Celebrating the 2026 Quilt Auction

What a weekend!

The 2026 Camp Onomia Quilt Auction was a beautiful celebration of this community and the people who continue to believe in the ministry of this place. From a record-breaking Bingo Night to an incredible collection of quilts and silent auction baskets, the weekend was full of generosity, creativity, laughter, and connection.

Our overnight guest count was of our largest years, filling Camp Onomia with people throughout the weekend. Friday night's Bingo was also a record breaker, with more than 50 prizes given away. Saturday brought an especially impressive collection of quilts and silent auction baskets, each one reflecting the remarkable talent and generosity of the people who support Camp Onomia.

This year also brought a wonderful new addition: the Maker's Market.

Reimagining our traditional Buy It Now area gave us the opportunity to celebrate local makers and creatives while adding another place for people to gather, browse, and support one another. The response was wonderful, and it was a meaningful addition to an already special weekend.

The silent auction and bake sale were another wonderful part of the weekend. The silent auction was filled with creative, thoughtful baskets and donations, and the bake sale once again showed off the incredible generosity of this community. There is something pretty special about seeing tables filled with homemade treats, donated goods, and things people have carefully put together simply because they want to help Camp thrive. The quality of our Silent Auction baskets continues to grow each year, and this year's collection was truly exceptional.

And then there were the quilts.

The quality, creativity, and craftsmanship of this year's quilts were truly outstanding. Each quilt represents hours of work, creativity, and care. Together, they tell a bigger story about a community willing to share its gifts so that others can experience Camp Onomia.

More Than $30,000 and Counting

We are still crunching the final numbers, but we already know that this year's Quilt Auction has raised more than $30,000 toward our $40,000 goal.

That is an incredible milestone.

And the impact of that generosity goes far beyond a fundraising total.

It helps make space for campers to experience a place where they are welcomed as their authentic selves. It gives young people opportunities to build friendships, try something new, spend time in creation, ask big questions, and discover that they are loved.

We may never know which conversation around a campfire becomes a lifelong memory. We may never know which counselor's encouragement gives someone the courage to try again. We may never know when a week at Camp becomes part of someone's story about who they are and who they are becoming.

But we know those moments happen here.

That is what we were celebrating this weekend.

A Community Effort

A weekend like this is only possible because so many people say yes.

A tremendous thank you to our Quilt Committee: Sharon, Sandy, Julie, Deanne, Jess, Mary, and Mickey. The months of planning, organizing, collecting, communicating, and preparing that happen behind the scenes are what make this weekend possible.

A special thank you to Sharon and Sandy, our co-chairs. And especially to Sandy, who is stepping down from her role as co-chair after years of service. We are deeply grateful for the time, creativity, leadership, and love she has poured into this event and into Camp Onomia.

Thank you to every person who donated a quilt, assembled a silent auction basket, donated a Bingo prize, shared their talents through the Maker's Market, volunteered throughout the weekend, prepared and served food, helped with setup and cleanup, placed a bid, made a purchase, or simply came to be part of the celebration.

And thank you to our Camp Onomia staff for all the work that went into welcoming such a tremendous number of overnight guests and making the weekend run so smoothly.

This is what happens when a community comes together.

Imagine More

We are not quite finished yet.

A NEW Online Quilt Auction is coming soon, giving even more people an opportunity to participate and take home one of this year's beautiful quilts.

And if you would like to help us close the remaining gap toward our $40,000 goal, you can donate now.

This year, we are imagining more for Camp Onomia: more welcome, more connection, more opportunities to encounter Christ through community and creation, and more moments that become part of someone's story.

This weekend, our community didn't just imagine more.

YOU made more possible. And we are so grateful.
