Accommodations
Camp Onomia offers welcoming spaces, delicious meals, and a variety of outdoor activities—everything you need for a memorable retreat, family gathering, or special event.

Food Service
At Camp Onomia, we provide delicious, thoughtfully prepared meals for every group. Meal times are flexible to fit your event schedule and accommodate dietary restrictions and allergies. While groups cannot prepare meals in our commercial kitchen, you are welcome to bring snacks if desired. Some exceptions may apply.
Typical weekend meal packages
Breakfast includes pancakes with sausage, scrambled eggs with bacon, baked egg dishes, or an oatmeal bar with toppings.
Lunch includes options such as soup and sandwiches, soup and salad, tacos with Spanish rice, hamburgers, or pulled pork sandwiches with beans.
Supper includes spaghetti or a pasta bar, baked chicken or French onion chicken with potatoes, pizza, or chicken fingers with fries.
This is just a starting point. We can work with larger groups or accommodate special requests, tailoring meals for both kids and adults. Many lunches and suppers also include a fresh salad bar with a variety of options.
All meals include beverages, and coffee is always ready.
Recreational Opportunities
Camp Onomia features approximately 1,500 feet of lakeshore on the southwest portion of Lake Shakopee, offering stunning sunsets that have become a hallmark of peaceful evenings at camp. We also have a rustic semi-wilderness campsite on the shores of Warren Lake. With roughly 100 acres of forest and open land, guests have plenty of space to explore. Most buildings are connected by paved walkways for safe and easy access for guests of all ages.
Activities
Our sports and activity areas include a large playing field, volleyball and basketball courts, shuffleboard, gaga pit, Nine Square in the Air, kids’ playground, nine-hole frisbee golf course, and a low ropes challenge course. The waterfront provides complimentary canoes and rowboats.
In the winter, guests can enjoy kickball and broomball on the frozen lake, as well as sliding, cross-country skiing, and snowshoeing at nearby Kathio State Park. For a challenge, explore the rustic trail at camp that leads to the Cathedral of the Pines on the south shore of the lake.
Campground and Waterfront
In addition to our Retreat Center and summer lodges, Camp Onomia offers several campsites for tents or smaller RVs. Four sites are available most weekends and during select summer weeks. Each site includes a firepit and picnic table, with shared bathroom facilities nearby. Limited electrical and water hookups are available for RV guests.
Hiking, Fishing, and More
Guests can enjoy some of the best fishing in the area on nearby lakes or explore hiking trails at Kathio State Park. Public access to Lake Shakopee is just down the road if you bring your own boat. Seasonally, rowboats, paddleboards, and canoes are available free of charge, with life jackets required.
Please note: Any use of the waterfront for swimming or watercraft requires a certified lifeguard and adequate adult supervision.
