Join us in the summer of 2012 for a most excellent adventure!
GOOD NEWS! We have held the line on camp fees
again this
year...NO PRICE INCREASE!
We want to help you out in a tight economy. In return,
we NEED YOU to bring a friend to camp with you this year to balance out the real
increases we see in operational expenses such as food, insurance, and staffing.
PLEASE be our ambassadors and encourage your friends, co-workers, and neighbors
to attend camp with you this summer!
You can even come back for a second week as there are different programs offered
in most age groups.
All programs are by grade completed by the spring of 2012. Unless noted,
sessions begin on Sunday at 3 PM and end the following Friday at 1PM
Camp Onomia summer staff spend two weeks in training before campers arrive. We
strive to provide your child a positive Christian role model who will be a good
friend, teacher, and mentor in faith. Campers stay in comfy dorms and are always
under the supervision of caring camp staff. Nutritious meals are served daily.
Camp Onomia lifts up the Gospel of Jesus Christ through this year's
theme "A Journey of Prayer." Campers will experience daily Bible study which is
designed for each age group. We begin each day with Camp Chapel and end each day
with an inspiration Campfire Songfest.
All are welcome here! Be sure to invite your friend to join you this summer at
Camp Onomia!
Follow these quick jumps to other age
groups you are seeking:

We have a new opportunity for
kids who want to go to camp like their older siblings, but just
aren't old enough to handle time away from mom or dad. This session
is a simple overnight at camp that the parent experiences along side
of the child. Kids stay with their parent/guardian during the nighttime
hours. During the day, we fill their time with activities, Bible
stories, and lots of fun. Parents get a break to chat with other
parents about important things like raising kids in today's world.
Camper gets to experience a bit of what camp is all about and mom or
dad or grandma is just a few steps away! 24 hours of Camp Onomia!
This session runs Sunday 3PM to Monday 3PM |

Ever thought about bringing your grampa
or grandma to camp?
~think~think~
We have a wonderful camp weekend on our schedule where kids can
experience camp with their grandparents! You will live together in

games, worship, Bible study, and everything else for different age

Check out this Cool program you will
only find at Camp Onomia.
We are dedicating a special week in our schedule for campers who love
music and theater! We give you a chance to perform as well as
time to improve your skills and art. Campers help design a "campy"
musical presentation which includes skits and dialog along side of
vocal music and "the band". The result is a 35 minute
presentation which we share on the last day of camp. Look for some
cool Guest musicians to join us during the week as well!
You should sign up for this program if you play
guitar, keyboard, base, drums, or just like to sing and have fun!
You should also consider this week if you like to act or simply love
to be on stage.
All skill levels are welcome!

Time to get your hands dirty for God!
This is a camp week where you can take on the task of helping your
neighbor in very concrete ways. This week offers all the fun things
that makes Camp Onomia great... singing, swimming, and cool
counselors... but we also set aside time for local work projects in
the community where you can actually make life better for someone
you don't even know. Back at camp we talk about our experiences and
connect them to our everyday lives through Bible study and prayer.
Come with a friend and make a difference for someone else! |

Start Fall Confirmation out
on a new path this year... |
Hey Churches!!!
Looking for a great way to kick off your fall confirmation? We
have designed a two night retreat just for your incoming
confirmation class and their leaders/mentors. The first year of
confirmation classes are usually difficult for both your students
and your leaders. Let us help make the work of Lutheran Catechism go
a whole lot easier. Camp Onomia leads your kids and mentors through
three days of group building on our new Low Ropes Initiatives
Challenge Course. When combined with camp worship, activities, and
community... the result is a church group which is bonded by common
experience and nurtured relationships. We guarantee that the
experience will make the classroom time a whole lot more enjoyable
and significant for all involved!
Note: This program is not open for individual enrollment:
Congregations should contact Onomia for registration details. |
| |
|
Fee per Person:
Session Offered: |
$99. Member churches pay $89,
leaders pay only a $30 food service fee
August 12-15. This retreat runs Sunday 3PM through 3pm on
Wednesday. |

There is no better place to build
relationships and to learn all about what it
means to be a Lutheran than at Camp Onomia this summer! It is OK to
be Lutheran, and at confirmation camp we help you explore faith,
life, and all the life skills that you need to make it in today's
crazy world. Pastors and youth mentors come to camp with you to
experience life together, to walk along side you, and even to get
thrown into the lake on occasion! The Confirmation camp week helps
you to understand your important place in the Body of Christ. It
makes learning all that catechetical stuff (the details on how we
understand Faith) a whole lot more enjoyable. But perhaps the
biggest thing you will experience here is the magic of living in
community with other Christians your age:
This is a place to explore those deeper questions.
This is where God interacts with you in some very real and exciting
ways.
So come and find your place on God's team! There are lots of friends
here who are glad to be a part of that journey with you!
BTW... we play hard here too :-)
Note to Congregations:
The Confirmation Camp program is designed to be different from our
other middle school programs. Church leaders attend camp with your
students. We offer an ala-carte menu of content for the week so that
we can work closely with you to make the camp week exactly
what you want it to be. Looking for a deeper discipleship week? We
can program that. Want to spend more time in building group identity
and belonging? We can do that on our new initiatives challenge
course. Seeking a service project off site? We can set that up for
you, plus adventure options galore. So give us a call today and we
will help you make the most of your week with the students. |
